over the years and applaud the following athletes and
welcome them to my Wall Of Fame.
Please note: Not all images available for

World
Champion: 1980,81,82 & 83 USA
Known for his technically perfect jumps and spins. McGuire
burst on to the scene in 1981 and amazed audiences with his
triple lutz, triple flip and triple jump combinations.
McGuire has been the inspiration to many and will remain of
the most elite champions in history.
McGuire sent me an inspiring letter in 1984, in response to
a 'fan letter' I sent him. He wished me the best and hoped I
achieved excellence in the area he was once in and advised
me to work hard on my spins.. for that I am grateful..

Gregg made his presence felt back in 1985 at his debut
world meet. His display of consistency and difficult triple
jumps proved he would be a force in future years. Smith, the
following year, performed a perfect triple loop in
combination and went on to take the gold by 1987. In 1988

Raffaella was the quite achiever out of Italy. She
appeared in 1984 with an unfamiliar strength in ladies not
often seen. This was the magic that was Del Vinaccio. Not
only a strong singles skater, Rafaella also took the gold in
combined events year after year. She was one of the very few
female athletes who performed clean double axel jumps in
competition each year and her artistic ability and manner of
performance improved dramatically as she continued to
take the gold medals, 13 in total. Two female names from Italy will
always be remembered, Satori and Del Vinnaccio. |

World Figure champion and combined champion year after
year, though it was Guerra's unique approach to his singles
that is memorable. Floorless lines, spectacular jumps,
charismatic and innovative choreography made him a star and 7
Gold medals.

in adaptations of modern dance to wheels, making him one of
the most sort after choreographers in Roller Sports. |

Champion: 1992, 93, 94 USA
It wasn't until 92 that Medeiros blossomed. His earlier
appearances on the world scene were felt, yet he was over
shadowed by the heights of Cohen and DeMotte. When Medeiros
came to light, he was unstoppable for years. His athletic
style and hit with a punch approach stole the show. Medeiros
was amongst the men performing the triple loop back in the
late 80's though it was never included in his gold winning
performances. Medeiros also took the World Game Gold in
1993. |

Champion: 1995, 2002 AUST
I've included myself on the wall, because I share
something special with Tammy Bryant. We both became World
Champions the same year, I also won the combined event that
year & was no
stranger to the world scene, it was my tenth world
championships and ninth of 11 Top 3 rankings to date, adding
the first Inline World title in 2002.
Throughout the years, there have been some very special
moments and so many dear people with whom I have shared
paths, it is because of this sport I have experienced such
luxuries and only hope I can give as much back. |
World
Champion: 1995 AUSTRALIA
Not only the first Gold medal winning performance for
her country, Tammy is also the most successful female
athlete in Australia's history. Bryant hit the world scene
in 1990 as a 13yr old. She soon moved in to the Top 5 of the
world and before long, proving to be one of the strongest
females around. Her spins are the best in the world and in
95 she proved she had it all. Bryant wasn't to falter and
she took the crown. In 1997 Bryant also won the prestigious
World Games adding a second title to her belt. |

Champion: 1997 USA
Eric
burst on to the scene in 1992 with spectacular style, a
refreshing debut from the US. Anderson never left the Top 3
over the next four years and took the crown in 1997. It was
Eric, myself and Heath, who shared to podium four years
consecutively. Anderson also won the World Games in 97 in
Finland. Eric proved most popular when on tour for show
events, especially in Spain where fans would virtually cause
riot upon exiting the venue and trying to get in to a car!
Eric performances in 2000 saw him back amongst the top 2 in
the world.

World
Champion: 1997 ITA
One of finest male athletes out of Italy 'not' to win
the freeskating titles, though this fact may have been disputed on many
an occasion with his exceptional performances. Mazzoni was
of the first to do triple flip jumps in combination and also
the triple loop off a lutz jump. Mazzoni's creative flare
was most prevalent in `99, it was a whole new side of
Mazzoni yet unexplored and one we asked for more of. Mazzoni
has shared the podium on many occasions and because of his
outstanding athleticism and style won the combined event in
1997. |

World
Champion: 1997, 98 ITALY
A skater filled with emotion who has captured many
hearts. Colaceci has had her shares of ups and downs but
always returns better and stronger. Her style and elegance
won her gold in 97 and her brute determination made her No.1
in 1998, where she jumped from no.11 in the short to take
the gold in the final. It was and is a truly inspiring story
and will be remembered. |
World
Champion: 1998, 99, 00, 01, 02 ITALY
Lallai, known for spectacular triple loop jumps and now
triple loop combinations. But that's not all, Lallai has
performed some brilliant programs to date and shown he can
be diverse whilst being a truly genius technician. Lallai
has taken four consecutive world titles and won the
combined event in 98. There are no prisoners and in 2002
Lallai was triumphant, both Lallai and D'Alisera performed
near perfect triple axel jumps and Lallai successfully
retained his No.1 ranking. |

Champion: 1992 - 2002 ITALY
Before taking the world of pairs by storm, Venerucci was
a top contender on the singles scene with Top 3 positions
each year in the late 80's early 90's. It was post that when
he partnered Maura Ferri, and re-partnered with Rossi that history was
made. Patrick and Beatrice are truly gold. Ten consecutive
world titles, the most successful athletes in the history of
our sport. Innovation, style, passion and drive has made
them the ultimate. The world salutes them and brings us to
our knees with their spectacular and breathtaking
performances. In 2001, their long program was awarded
perfect scores of 10.0 from every judge. Brilliance. |

Champion: 1997-99,`03-04
ITALY
The boy who has made history. D'Alisera, not only is he
undeniably the most mesmerizing performer on the circuit, he
has just completed and landed perfectly the first triple
axel in our sports history in competition at the Italian
Champs. Yet to take a
senior world no.1 title, D'Alisera has captured the crown
and the hearts of thousands on the Junior scene. It was
imminent that he would take the world and create history
from day one. His presence is felt when he enters a room and
on the floor he is likened to the greatness of ice. Luca
skated brilliantly in 2002 and won the long program though
had to settle for the silver medal behind Lallai. |
World
Champion: 1975 SUI
A performance I have never had the benefit of seeing,
though because the world meet was in Brisbane, Australia,
there are a number of people who still tell me of their
memories of Leonardo. It is said that he is the very first
person to have ever performed a quad jump and it was at
this championship, Yes, back in 1975. Nowadays, Leonardo is
a technician for the Italian Team. He has coached many fine
athletes, including Mauro Mazzoni. Lenoardo's performance in
75 will be long talked about and one day, an avid collector
of film will find this treasure and let it be seen by all.
