I
started skating at the age of 4. I have skated at
many different rinks, and have had many different
coaches throughout my skating career. I won
Nationals in 94' in Sophomore solo and went on the
next year to win Sophomore team dance with Brian
Cray.
In
1996 I started taking lessons with The Viola's
and Cohen's. In 97' Sam Porazzo and
I won Open Free dance at the National Championships
in Pensacola, Florida.
I
had a few partner changes within the next few
years and 2 months before the National
Championships in 2000, Kevin and I started
skating together. After only 2 months we managed
to place 5th at the Nationals. In 2001 we placed
3rd at Nationals, and 6th at the Worlds in Florence, Italy.
The next year we placed 2nd at Nationals and 5th
at the World Championships in Wupertal, Germany.
This year we also placed 2nd at the US nationals
and ended up 4th at the Worlds in Argentina!!
Looks like every year we move up a little bit :-)
Interests:
Outside
of skating I work full time as a Director and
teacher at my mother's Preschool. I love children,

Skating
History: I
started skating at a very young age, basically as
soon as I could walk at 10 months old.
I guess you can say that skating is in my
blood as I can trace my roller skating roots back
to my maternal grandparents.
Because my mother is a roller skating
coach, I spent many hours at the rink growing up.
I competed in every aspect of figure
skating: dance,
figures, freestyle, pairs and later, precision.
I have national placements in all of them.
I feel the turning point in my skating
career was in 1996 when I won Freshman team dance
and got second in pairs and singles.
My mom did most of my coaching through
Freshman. Until
that point, my mom was my dance/figure coach with
help through the years from awesome coaches such
as my step dad Richard Dion in dance/figures and
my uncle Billy Richardson, Janet Britt-Pavilonis
and Cheryl Manning-Hudson worked my freestyle and
pairs. In
1998, I began working with John and DeeDee Viola
and Jodee and Scott Cohen with my sights on a
world team berth.
That
year, I teamed up with Jennifer Williams to
compete in Junior World Class dance and pairs.
We had a great year, winning the US
National Championships in both events and going on
to win the silver medal in pairs in Brisbane,
Australia. I
believe that we were the first team to go to the
world championships from the US in both dance and
pairs.
Jennifer
and I worked most of the next season preparing to
make the move to Senior and skate both dance and
pairs once again.
In May of 2000, there was a change of plans
and I began skating with Tammy.
With barely two months before the national
championships, we had to work fast!
We finished fifth that year, but the
following season, with a full year behind us, we
placed third earning us a trip to Florence where
we placed 6th in Senior Dance.
We have continually moved up from that
first trip, finishing 5th in Wuppertal
and most recently 4th in Argentina.
I guess you could say we’re movin’
on up!!!!
