| 2003
World No.2 Andrea Barbieri needs no introduction. He
burst on to the world scene in 2001 in spectacular fashion and
went straight to the top. Again in 2002 with his partner, Irene
Nardo for pairs skating, he won another Gold along with
the silver medal in the Junior Mens
Freestyle event. Barbieri this year broke all the rules and
went straight in to the No.2 ranking in the Senior Men's event
performing a triple axel jump and no less than 7 seven jumps
in his long program. Off skates, he looks like he has just come
off the catwalks of Milan's top fashion houses and on skates his costuming
was outstanding in 2003 with some really unique and individual
designs worn. What does the future hold for this bright star..
well - your about to find out but I think there plenty more in
store and its not the last you'll be hearing of this
guy...
Andrea Barbieri is our 'Athlete of the Month'.. Salute!!
