This month we have taken time to interview and feature none other than 1999, 2000, 2001 & 2002 World Champion in Men's singles, from Italia, Luca Lallai. Lallai also won the prestigious World Games, in Japan 2001.
Luca Lallai: Feature interview and athlete of the month
Q1: When did you begin skating and which club were you are member of?
A1: I began to skate in 1986. My club is 'Pattinatori Massestani' in Tuscany.
Q2: Your first appearance at a World Championships was in 1997, how was that experience for you?
A2: The first experience to the world championship was very beautiful for me. I didn't think that I could arrive at the third position.
Q3: Can you tell us what you thought of Australia, will it hold special memories because it was your first World Championship win in the men's singles?
A3: Panic! Because I never thought to the victory and i didn't know that can happened after this competition. Certainly, it was a magic moment.
Q4: Is Artistic Skating a high profile sport in Italy and are you treated like a 'celebrity' because you are the World Champion?
A4: No, no, in Italy isn't very famous sport, but I leave in a small city, and so here I'm very knowing and when I came back from an important competition my city is always celebrates for me.
Q5: Will you be defending your World Title at this years championships in Florence and how do you feel about competing against Luca D'Alisera in your own country?
A5: I think that Luca is a very good skater and also that the competition will be very hard. I have to thank Luca, because he has sparked in me the correct incentives for skating. 
Q6: Could the competition this year between yourself and Luca D'Alisera be the 'Greatest' competition in history... I think possibly so!
A6: Yes!!
Q7: Do you have any plans to pursue any kind of skating career outside of the competitive circle?
A7: For the moment, I don't know , because I am only 23 years old and desire to continue my career with the competition!!!!!
Q8: What do you think could assist in promoting our Sport and lift the Profile or our Athletes?
A8: I think that it's very important that the TV begin to take an interest in us so that we can have a sponsor and promote the skating.
Q9: Do you have a message for the aspiring skaters around the World who think so much of you?
A10: My message is that it's not important to win, but the love of skating, I enjoy the many opportunities but I love this also if I do not win the world championship.
